How taxi pricing works in SVG
Taxis in St Vincent and the Grenadines do not use meters. Fares are quoted per vehicle — not per person — and agreed before you travel. Prices are usually given in US dollars, with EC dollars accepted at the prevailing rate. Every price below is a starting point for a private vehicle; we confirm the exact figure in writing when we accept your booking, so the number you agree is the number you pay.

What affects the price
Distance and route
Fares are set per route rather than by meter. A run from Argyle to Kingstown or Villa is priced differently to a cross-island trip to Barrouallie, Chateaubelair or the Vermont valley.
Vehicle size
A saloon car, an executive MPV and a luxury van are priced separately. Group size and luggage volume decide which vehicle we assign, so tell us both when you request a quote.
Time of day
Late-night and very early-morning pickups outside normal hours are quoted at a premium because the driver is scheduled specifically for your flight or tender.
Waiting time and extra stops
Supermarket, pharmacy or chandlery stops, and any extended wait beyond the arrival grace period, are quoted before the trip so there is no surprise on arrival.
Luggage
- A saloon car comfortably takes two guests with two large cases; an MPV or luxury van is the right choice for families, crew changes and anyone travelling with more.
- Oversized items — dive gear, golf bags, sails, kiteboards, pushchairs and boxed provisions — are no problem, but tell us the count and size in advance so we assign a vehicle with the space.
- Provisioning runs and chandlery collections are quoted with the transfer, including load time at the dock.
- Drivers assist with loading and unloading at both ends as standard, at no extra charge.
Flight delays and waiting
- Give us your flight number when you book. We track the arrival and move the pickup to match the actual landing time.
- A 60-minute grace period after landing is included at no extra charge, which covers immigration, baggage reclaim and customs at Argyle.
- If your flight is significantly delayed, diverted or cancelled, we reschedule — there is no no-show charge for a delayed flight.

Currency and payment
Quotes are issued in US dollars; EC dollars are accepted at the prevailing rate. You can settle by card or bank transfer in advance against your quote reference, or on the day directly with the office. Every confirmed booking carries a written quote reference so the agreed price is documented before you travel.

Tipping is not required and never added to your quote. It is appreciated for luggage handling, long waits or guided tours, and is entirely at your discretion.
Is the fare per person or per vehicle?
Per vehicle. The quoted price covers everyone travelling in that vehicle, up to its passenger and luggage capacity.
